It comes in a little compact black box to store it in. It can fit almost anywhere, even in a purse if you needed to carry it with you. It would be easily packed in luggage to take anywhere you go. The box is really sturdy and has a latch to keep the contents inside. It comes with easy to read instructions as well. I really appreciate the fact they included the batteries. It takes 2 AAA batteries. Battery installation is easy as well. It has a slide door on the side, insert batteries and you are ready to go. It comes to you like this.
Now the unit does have a feature where you can store blood pressure information on 2 people. We have not chosen to use that feature yet, but will do so in the future, when we need an accurate count of blood pressures. But place the unit with the monitor on the "inside" of your wrist. Then press the power button in the middle. Be sure your elbow is sitting on a comfortable level, bending at the elbow with your wrist in front of and away from your body. The ideal arm position is shown on the side of the wrist strap. Then the voice will prompt you to either raise or lower your wrist. It is easier to find the accurate spot if you move only your wrist up and down. It will tell you when you have found the optimal position and then the unit will start inflating. Be very still through this process after you have found the right position, as moving will mess up the results and you will have to restart. When it is complete it will tell you your blood pressure and pulse rate. It also will tell you where your blood pressure is according to the Heart Associations standards.
From a nursing point of view this is an awesome "new toy". It takes accurate measurements and will store that information for you if you like. It is really easy to operate, takes up very little room and is not at all bulky like a lot of other units. I really do give this unit 5 stars. Nursing buddies this is something you may be interested in. I love it.
